Tours to see the Lesser Prairie Chicken mating dance are conducted from March 15th through April 20th.  The brilliant display centers around the male prairie chickens, who scratch, puff their neck sacks, bluff fight, and make strange calls as they compete to capture the affection of a hen for mating.
